Third World Impact was founded by a diverse group of students in order to address the issues that contribute to the exodus of individuals with knowledge and technical skills by a phenomenon called the "brain drain". Our primary commitment is encouraging students to use the professional skills they will acquire during their academic career to pursue future professions in developing nations in order to help those less fortunate. We hope to develop our students into intelligent, well-rounded leaders that will assist in ending the cycle of deteriorating social, economic, environmental, and political conditions which continues to plauge many developing countries today.
In turn, 3WI is dedicated to promoting awareness of humanitarian and human rights issues around the globe, especially for developing nations, in an effort to deter the brain drain phenomenon. We believe that by complementing education with community service we can develop our students' characters to be future leaders in their respective careers. Consequently, we serve as a gateway for students who wish to participate in local and international relief efforts via internships and community service.
